of 10 years Aida has returned to La Scala - the production enjoys another outstanding performance from Ghena Dimitrova, whose Amneris reveals a chest register to match the clarion size and breadth of her top. Milan certainly seems to se and hear the best in Mme Dimitrova:
the vocal and dramatic sparring of the Act IV duet suggested Radames would have made a far better with this Amneris than with Aida of Maria Chiara .
